NAXALITE WORSE THAN A MOSQUITO

A Naxalite is worse than a Mosquito. A Mosquito will only suck your blood, but a Naxalite will make you a Mosquito and create hell of your life. However, both share some similar attributes.

My article on the disgusting Naxalites is not a knee jerk response to the killing of many CRPF personnel by the Naxalites in Chattisgarh. I have always felt irked by the romantic projections of a Naxalite as anti-state actors who take arms for the right cause of the underprivileged tribal people. We loved such characters as heroes even in the movies of the 1970s. These Naxalites are stuck in a time warp. They can do no good to anyone. The self appointed guardians of the unemployed and underprivileged people relish the substandard conditions of a majority of population in India as this gives credence to their claims and makes them enjoy power without accountability.

You cannot hail mosquitoes as heroes just because they breed in gutters. I agree that the gutters should be cleaned and development activities should be initiated by the Government in the interior and most backward areas of our country. But the irony remains that even if the Government stands committed for development, the Naxals won’t allow development to take place. Their whole existence and identity will be diminished if they co-operate with the Government and offer fruitful suggestions for the road to development. On the contrary, these Naxalites even join hands with some corrupt politicians and generate money for their arms, ammunition and entertainment. God knows, they may even be helping the extremists from beyond the countries. Absolute Power corrupts everybody.

Nation building is no easy task. We cannot leave our nation at the hands of such perverted educated unemployed power hungry fools operating with no rationale. Various educated people in the ranks of Naxalites does not lend them any credibility. For that matter, event he Al-Qaeda or the Lashkar E Toiba have management graduates or even IT professionals working for them.

Who are the victims of these Naxalites? The same hapless poor people die at the hands of their brutal power. We can question the government of the day, as they are voted by us, but these Naxalites will offer us neither development nor justice. Revolution can never be bought by blood stained hands. Even if such revolution succeeds, it will end in long lasting chaos and turmoil.

So many CRPF jawans died in combat. What a shame that the nation did not stand in solidarity behind the grief of these dead jawans? We only consider the lives of those killed in the Taj and Oberoi and offer candles at the Gateway of India as a fashion statement. As far as the Government is concerned, it is expected to bungle as our Governments never had a coherent stand on security issues and development. Parties cutting across all lines should have stood united atleast on such issues which threaten the democratic principles of our nation. Temporary knee jerk measures will not help in eliminating these Naxalites.

As far as the human rights activists and writers who romanticize the activities of Naxalites, I wish each one of them puts a foot on the landmines planted by Naxalites and get them amputed so that they feel the pain inflicted by the Naxalites who are good for nothing. Once a Naxalite, always a Naxalite. We, as the citizens of our proud nation who stand for democracy should make it known that we will not tolerate such cowardly acts of the Naxalites. We must raise funds and donate blood for the jawans who are killed or injured while combating the Naxalites. We must let the Naxalites know that our democracy is for the people, by the people and to the people and not for the Naxalites. No wonder, in the recent Lok Sabha elections held at Naxal infested Gadchiroli; people came out in large numbers to vote as they lost faith in the Naxalites. Only an elected democratic government can act for the welfare of all the people.

A Naxalite is a psychopath. He hates the rich people who lead a luxurious life, as he never has the enterprise to do business nor can he do jobs under any employer. So, instead of encouraging people to go up the ladder, he takes pleasure in bringing successful people down as he has never seen life beyond the gutters. Since he enjoys the gutters, he feels that everyone should live in gutters. A Naxalite can only kill and destroy lives but cannot rebuild lives.

A victory of a Naxalite will be a case of victory of Pessimism over Optimism. As responsible citizens of our country, it is upto us to decide whether to sustain democracy and take all sections of the people on the path of progress or call it curtains.
